It seems there is an increasing number of people criticising Michelle Obama’s choice of fashion.

Michelle Obama is not meant to be a fashion queen, and i genuinely feel like she is trying her best to be accepted into the fashion community. From the criticism of wearing a sleeveless top in the official photo to the choice of clothing at the G2O Summit in London – is this really worth discussing?

I think Michelle Obama’s fashion style is effortlessly chic – there is no reason why she should have to try super hard just to please everyone. There will always be someone ready to criticise, but i think it is high time we let Mrs Obama settle into her new role of being the First Lady, rather than disapprove of something so trivial as her fashion sense.

I actually think she looks good – she is very tall and any tall ladies will understand how difficult it can be to find well-fitting clothes that don’t make you look like a giraffe trying to dress fashionably. Its okay when you’re in your twenties, but as you get older it can be hard to carry off clothes as well when you’re particularly tall.

  1. I really don’t care for her wardrobe and even if she does not want to be thought of as a fashionista, she is one of the most photographed women in the world, and frankly, I don’t think she shows much fashion sense. The giant bow on that white blouse and the argyle sweater and thick belt she wore over it at Take Your Children to Work Day at the White House were a giant fashion NO. If anyone else wore such a get-up the criticism would flow. Just like her husband, she can do no wrong! Kind of crazy, if you ask me.
